Jr. - .Net Developer

SpaceBound is looking for an entry level or jr. - .NET Developer will assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and documenting the requirements of the in-house systems. This position requires a self-starting and adaptable individual who can organize and successfully manage a work queue that consists of such tasks as debugging, form design, database interfaces, and database connectivity, to name a few.  During the first interview, candidates will be tested on their personal knowledge of all position requirements.

Salary:  Negotiable and commensurate with experience and Midwest region cost of living scale

Training Bonuses:  Two - Upon completion of first six months and completion of first 12 months

Location:  LaGrange, OH - No rush-hour traffic from any location!

  • 20-35 Minutes from Cleveland, Westlake, North Ridgeville, Elyria, Avon, Medina, and Brunswick

  • 35-45 Minutes from Lakewood, Beachwood, Sandusky, Brecksville, and Strongsville

Work Tour:  Full-Time/Long-Term Salaried Position (M-F 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to

  • Maintaining legacy Access system on an as needed basis while assisting in migration of legacy Access system to modern .NET application architecture.

  • Designing, modifying, improving and debugging software components including VBA code, forms, and reports

  • Creating and maintaining C# based console applications, utility libraries, web services, Windows Forms/XAML applications, ASP.Net MVC and Web Forms websites

  • Working with the Lead Developer to formulate the overall architecture of new projects

  • Identify and understand the requirements of the users with respect to the system that needs to be developed

  • Providing estimates

  • System testing during each stage of the development phase and identify bugs which could result in negative user experience and ensure good performance of the database system

  • Documenting changes and updates regarding the system so that everybody is acquainted with the changes and modifications to the system

  • Providing on-site support to end users after the system has been delivered

  • Making necessary modifications to the system based on user feedback, and improve the overall usability of the system by providing regular system updates

  • Actively working the ticketing system to manage ongoing work throughout all phases of development (support, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment)

  • Write necessary technical documentation and instructions and provide system training/support to new and existing users

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Application Programming, etc. or equivalent experience

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts

  • Professional or academic experience with .NET (or Java) development

  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational database (RDBMS) concepts

  • Ability to read and write proficiently in English

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on team projects

  • Must have above average communication and writing skills

  • Must be self-motivated - working well independently is a must

  • Professional demeanor required

Non-Required Qualifications (added plus):

  • SQL Server experience a plus

  • 1-2 years’ experience developing Windows form-based applications using C# or Visual Basic

  • Microsoft Office-based development using VBA and/or VSTO

  • Microsoft Access development focusing on forms and queries

  • Experience with custom integrations using SOAP and REST web services, APIs/SDKs, and the serialization and de-serialization of XML and JSON

  • Familiarity utilizing Entity Framework, LINQ, and/or ADO.Net for data access

  • Microsoft SQL Server development using T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views

  • Web development knowledge using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP.NET MVC

  • Asynchronous/Multithreaded programming experience
