Compliance Manager

Salary:  Negotiable and commensurate with experience and Midwest region cost of living scale

Location:  LaGrange, OH - No rush-hour traffic from any location!

  • 20-35 Minutes from Cleveland, Westlake, North Ridgeville, Elyria, Avon, Medina, and Brunswick

  • 35-45 Minutes from Lakewood, Beachwood, Sandusky, Brecksville, and Strongsville

Position Overview:

SpaceBound is a seller of technology and misc. products on several e-commerce marketplaces.  This position is responsible for ensuring that any compliance violation brought to the company’s attention is addressed in a timely manner. 

Although most compliance violations are unfounded, it is the responsibility of Compliance Management to prove the violation to be invalid or create parameters to ensure that the violation does not occur in the future.  

e.g. – A claim is received stating that selling IBM on marketplace is a violation.  Compliance Management is responsible for researching and responding with proper documentation, demonstrating that the company is an approved supplier and permitted to sell the product online.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring that the company’s activities remain within the e-marketplace compliance guidelines, regulations, and expectations.

  • Monitoring incoming e-mails from multiple e-marketplace sites

  • Researching Claims

  • Corresponding with Proper Parties Assisting with Claim Resolution

  • Responding appropriately to all e-marketplace Claims in a timely manner

  • Create, modify, update, and implement processes and protocols that ensure that best practices continue

  • Design control systems to address cases of legitimate compliance violations, ensuring that future infractions are limited or do not occur

  • Work as a liaison with other departments, ensuring that best practices are implemented to mitigate future violations

  • Meet weekly with team executives to review and collaborate on best outcome scenarios

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in fields that show proven ability to learn and manage the necessary requirements as described for this position. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management, legal studies, or business administration, preferred but not required.

  • Skilled at writing (clear and concisely a plus)

  • Possess above-average use of grammar and punctuation

  • Able to notice small details, normally missed by others

  • Great at research and documentation compilation

  • Organized

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Exceptional at timely follow-up 

  • Capable of successfully using a task management and schedule system

  • Above average interpersonal skills and even tempered

  • Able to work well with others

  • Low on drama, happy most of the time, enjoy humor and willing to supply stress relieving snacks
